Visit by appointment
Bring your silver to our Mayfair viewing room or Braintree office. We assess it with you and pay by bank transfer the same day.
Home collection
Suited to canteens, tea sets and larger pieces. We book a FedEx collection from your home and email you the label. Someone needs to be at home on the day.
Insured post
Send your silver to us free and insured, with cover up to £10,000 per parcel. If you decide not to sell, we return it free of charge.

Selling silver: common questions
Do you only pay scrap value?
No. Most antique and good quality silver is worth more as an object than as metal, and we price it accordingly. Only broken, badly worn or plain modern pieces are valued mainly for their silver content, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Do I need to know what my silver is?
No. Send photographs of the piece and its marks and we will identify the maker, the date and the purity. Unmarked pieces can be tested by XRF when we see them.
Should I clean or polish it first?
No. Polishing can wear away fine detail and the original surface that collectors value. Please send it as it is. How to care for antique silver
Is silver plate worth anything?
Usually very little, as the silver is only a thin coating. Marks such as EPNS or EP indicate plate. If you are unsure, send a photograph of the marks. EPNS or sterling?
How and when do I get paid?
By bank transfer on the day we receive your silver, whether you visit us, post it or book a collection.
What if I change my mind?
There is no obligation at any stage. If you have sent your silver and decide not to sell, we return it free and insured.
Do you buy from anywhere in the UK?
