Passionate Collectors & Active Buyers of Art Nouveau Jewellery

Art Nouveau jewellery (c.1890–1910) represents one of the most imaginative and technically demanding periods in the history of decorative arts. The movement embraced nature — dragonflies, peacock feathers, irises, female faces framed in flowing hair — executed in enamel, gold, horn, ivory and gem stones with breathtaking artistry.

At Mozeris Fine Antiques, we are genuine enthusiasts of this period. We actively seek the finest examples of Art Nouveau jewellery from British, French, Belgian and American makers, and we pay premium prices that reflect the true collector market — not auction-house estimates.

Whether you have a single Lalique pendant, a set of plique-à-jour enamel earrings, or an extensive collection of Art Nouveau pieces, we would be delighted to offer a free, expert valuation at our Braintree, Essex or Mayfair, London showroom — strictly by appointment.

Artists & Makers Whose Work We Actively Seek

The most celebrated names in Art Nouveau jewellery — pieces signed by these makers command exceptional premiums

René Lalique

French · 1860–1945

The supreme master of Art Nouveau jewellery. Lalique's enamel, glass, ivory and gem-set creations command the highest prices of any Art Nouveau jeweller. Signed pieces are exceptionally valuable.

Georges Fouquet

French · 1862–1957

Parisian jeweller who collaborated with Alphonse Mucha on the famous Sarah Bernhardt serpent bracelet. His sinuous, enamelled pieces are among the most sought-after in the genre.

Lucien Gaillard

French · 1861–1933

Master of horn, ivory and enamel work inspired by Japanese art. His dragonfly and insect brooches with plique-à-jour wings are technically extraordinary and highly collected.

Philippe Wolfers

Belgian · 1858–1929

Belgium's foremost Art Nouveau jeweller — his ivory, enamel and diamond pieces bridging Symbolism and Art Nouveau are rare and exceptional, achieving major auction records.

Masriera & Carreras

Spanish · est. 1839

Barcelona jewellers who combined French Art Nouveau with Catalan Modernisme — their plique-à-jour enamel fairy and nymph pendants are internationally sought by collectors.

British Art Nouveau

British · 1890–1915

Pieces by Liberty & Co (Cymric range), C.R. Ashbee, and the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft — Arts & Crafts meets Art Nouveau in silver, enamel and semi-precious stones.

What Art Nouveau Jewellery We Buy

We buy all categories of Art Nouveau jewellery — signed and unsigned, single pieces and collections

Plique-à-Jour Enamel

The most technically demanding Art Nouveau technique — translucent enamel cells without a metal backing, glowing like miniature stained glass. Dragonfly brooches, butterfly wings, flower pendants.

Champlevé & Cloisonné Enamel

Rich opaque and translucent enamel in sinuous organic designs — peacock feathers, irises, mistletoe, water lilies. French and Belgian examples command the highest prices.

Horn & Ivory Jewellery

Lalique and Gaillard pioneered horn combs, hair ornaments and pendants with carved naturalistic detail — unusual and highly collectable materials used with extraordinary artistry.

Gem-Set Naturalistic Pieces

Gold and silver pieces set with opals, moonstones, demantoid garnets, turquoise, pearls and plique-à-jour enamel in organic, flowing designs — insects, flowers, female figures.

Liberty & Co / Arts & Crafts

Cymric silver jewellery by Liberty of London — turquoise-set brooches, enamel pendants, hammered silver — and pieces by Archibald Knox, C.R. Ashbee and the Birmingham School.

Signed & Unsigned Examples

We buy both signed pieces by named makers and high-quality unsigned Art Nouveau jewellery. The quality of design and execution always matters more than a signature alone.

Art Nouveau Jewellery FAQs

Common questions from sellers of Art Nouveau jewellery

How do I know if my piece is genuine Art Nouveau?
Genuine Art Nouveau jewellery (c.1890–1910) features organic, naturalistic motifs — flowers, insects, female faces, birds — executed in enamel, horn, ivory or gem stones within flowing asymmetric compositions. Later reproductions exist; our experts can confirm authenticity from photos before you visit.
My piece isn't signed — is it still valuable?
Yes, unsigned Art Nouveau jewellery can still be very valuable. Quality of design, technical execution (especially enamel work), materials and condition all matter independently of a signature. Many superb pieces were sold by retailers without maker attribution.
How do I tell if enamel is plique-à-jour?
Hold the piece up to the light — genuine plique-à-jour enamel is transparent or translucent (like stained glass) because it has no metal backing. If the enamel is opaque it is likely champlevé or cloisonné, which are also collectible but generally less rare than plique-à-jour.
Do you buy damaged or repaired Art Nouveau pieces?
We buy pieces in all conditions, including those with damaged enamel or missing stones. Damage does reduce value, but for rare pieces by important makers we still make competitive offers. We will always be transparent about how condition affects our valuation.
What documentation helps when selling Art Nouveau jewellery?
Anything that helps establish provenance — original receipts, auction catalogues, insurance valuations, correspondence, or exhibition records — all add value. However we buy pieces without documentation too.
