Oxford's colleges have commissioned, presented and treasured fine silver for centuries (ceremonial cups, rose bowls, salvers and engraved plate) and that tradition of quality silver carries through to the city's homes and the prosperous villages of Oxfordshire. If you've inherited a tea service, a canteen of cutlery, presentation pieces or antique silver of any kind, Mozeris Fine Antiques will value and buy it, with free FedEx collection from any Oxford address and same-day payment.

You don't need to travel. We're a family-run firm of antique and precious-metal specialists, and most of our Oxford sellers handle the entire sale from home; we arrange a free, tracked FedEx collection, verify your silver at our office, and pay you the same day. For higher-value collections we also offer by-appointment valuations.

We Buy Silver From Oxford and Across the UK

We buy all genuine silver: sterling and Britannia standard, antique and modern, English and continental. That includes tea and coffee services, trays and salvers, candlesticks and candelabra, canteens of cutlery and individual flatware, christening mugs, goblets and presentation cups, sauce boats, entrée dishes, cigarette and vesta cases, photograph frames, vinaigrettes and small collectables, plus silver coins and scrap. Every piece is judged on its hallmarks, weight, maker and condition, fine maker silver (Paul Storr, Hester Bateman, Garrard, Mappin & Webb and others) is valued as antique silver, not by melt, so never sell good silver as scrap without a specialist opinion. Engraved college, club or presentation silver in particular can carry real collector interest.

Why Oxford Sellers Choose Mozeris

We buy directly, with no auction commission, no listing fees and no waiting months for a sale: a firm figure and immediate payment. A specialist antique buyer recognises maker, period, engraving and rarity, which is exactly where the value of Oxford silver often lies, while a high-street "we buy gold" shop will usually pay melt only. Every valuation is free and without obligation.

Silver in Oxford: Colleges, Ceremony and Country Houses

From the panelled halls of the colleges to the Georgian and Victorian houses of north Oxford and the surrounding villages, Oxford has long been steeped in ceremonial and domestic silver. Presentation cups, rose bowls, salvers and engraved flatware regularly come to us from the city and the county. Much fine Oxford silver was retailed through London and carries the leopard's head of the London Assay Office, with other pieces marked in Birmingham or Sheffield. We regularly handle silver from Jericho, Summertown, Headington, Iffley, Witney, Abingdon, Woodstock, Bicester and the wider county. Wherever you are in Oxfordshire, our free courier reaches you.
