The design people know best, and Cartier Love Bracelet pieces we have bought and sold, photographed by us.
A bracelet that locks
Aldo Cipullo designed the Love bracelet for Cartier in New York in 1969 as a bracelet that could not simply be slipped off: two rigid halves of gold, held together by screws and opened with a small screwdriver. The screw heads run around the whole bracelet as decoration, but only the ones at the joins actually turn. That simple idea is also what makes a Love bracelet so straightforward to check, because almost every detail of it is engineered to fit exactly.
The Cartier Love pieces we buy
Love bracelet. The original model and the thinner small model, in yellow, white and rose gold, plain or set with diamonds, from four diamonds to fully paved.
- Love cuff. The open bracelet that slips on without screws.
- Love ring. From the slim wedding band to the classic width, plain or with diamonds.
- Love necklace and pendant. Love pendants and necklaces in gold, with or without diamonds.
- Love earrings. Studs and hoops.
- Older and used Love bracelets. Including earlier models with a different screw system, and bracelets that need attention.
Cartier Love Bracelet pieces we have handled

Three generations of closure
Cartier has changed the way the Love bracelet closes over the years, and knowing which one you have helps us identify it before you send it.
- Earlier bracelets. The screws come out completely when the bracelet is opened, so they can be lost.
- Later bracelets. The screws loosen but stay held in the bracelet when it opens.
- The newest bracelets. One side closes with a working screw and the other with a hinge.
Cartier does not publish exact dates for these changes, so we read the closure together with the engraving inside. If yours is missing a screw or the screwdriver, tell us; it does not stop us buying it.
How we check a Cartier Love piece
- The inside engraving
The Cartier signature, the 750 mark, the serial number and the size, cleanly and evenly engraved at the same depth. Pieces made in France also carry the French eagle's head mark.
- The serial
It should be crisply cut and, if you have the certificate, match it. A serial supports a genuine piece but never proves one on its own, because copies carry convincing numbers too.
- The screws
Crisply cut heads that sit flush, in even alignment around the bracelet, and working screws at the joins that turn smoothly.
- The closure
The two halves meet without a step or gap, and the hinge, on newer bracelets, moves cleanly.
- The screwdriver, box and papers
If you have them, the screwdriver should fit the screw heads exactly and the certificate should match the bracelet.
- Diamonds
On diamond Love pieces, each stone is set flush in its own hole and matches the others.

Does completeness matter?
It helps. A Love bracelet with its box, certificate, receipt and screwdriver is the easiest to resell, and our estimate takes that into account. But most of the Love bracelets people want to sell have lost something over the years, often the screwdriver, and we buy them all the same. We check the bracelet itself, and that is what we value.
What affects the valuation of a Love bracelet
The model: original or small, bracelet, cuff, ring or necklace.
- The gold and diamonds: yellow, white or rose gold, and the number and size of any diamonds.
- The size, engraved inside.
- The generation of the closure.
- Condition: scratches and dents, worn or damaged screw heads, a stretched hinge, and any repair.
- Completeness: box, certificate, receipt and screwdriver.
We do not publish prices. Two Love bracelets that look alike can be different models and sizes, so a free valuation from your photographs is the quickest way to an accurate figure.

Questions about selling Cartier Love Bracelet
Where is the best place to sell a Cartier Love bracelet in the UK?
Choose a buyer who checks the inside engraving, serial and screws in person and pays once a price is agreed. Mozeris buys Love bracelets directly: a free valuation from photographs, then an appointment in Mayfair, London, or Braintree, Essex, Special Delivery post or free collection from home. You are paid the same day after inspection.
Can I sell my Cartier Love bracelet without the screwdriver, box or papers?
Yes. Most Love bracelets we are offered have lost the screwdriver, the box or the certificate, and we buy them without. We check the bracelet itself: the engraving, serial, screws and closure. A complete set is easier to resell and our estimate reflects that, but missing pieces never stop a sale.
How much can I sell my Cartier Love bracelet for?
That depends on the model, the gold, any diamonds, the size, the closure generation, the condition and whether you have the box, papers and screwdriver. We do not publish prices, because similar-looking bracelets can differ a great deal. Send photographs of the inside engraving and screws for a free valuation, with a reply within one working day.
How do you check a Cartier Love bracelet is genuine?
We look at several things together: the Cartier signature, 750 mark, serial and size engraved cleanly inside, French marks where present, crisp screw heads in even alignment, working screws at the joins, and two halves that close without a gap. Any screwdriver, box and certificate should match. No single feature decides it.
Do you buy the Love bangle, cuff, ring and necklace too?
Yes. We buy every Love piece: bracelets in the original and small models, the open Love cuff, Love rings from slim bands to the classic width, Love pendants and necklaces, and Love earrings, in all three golds, plain or with diamonds. Photograph the signature and serial on each piece.
Do you buy older and used Cartier Love bracelets?
Yes. We buy older Love bracelets with the earlier screw system, used bracelets with scratches or dents, and bracelets missing a screw or with worn screw heads. Tell us what is wrong and photograph it. Pre-owned Love jewelry bought abroad sells to us in the same way as a bracelet bought in London.
How quickly are you paid?
You are paid the same day after inspection, once you accept our offer, by bank transfer. At a Mayfair or Braintree appointment that happens during your visit. A bracelet sent by Special Delivery or collected by FedEx is checked on arrival and paid for that day. You get a reply to your first enquiry within one working day.
Do you buy diamond-set Love bracelets?
Yes. We buy Love bracelets set with diamonds, from four or six stones to half and fully paved versions, and diamond Love rings and pendants. Each diamond should sit flush in its own setting and match the others. For diamonds without a laboratory certificate, our figures are careful estimates, not laboratory certified.
