What is being sold
The five watches are the Octa Jour et Nuit, Octa Chronographe, Octa Calendrier, Tourbillon Souverain and Chronomètre à Résonance, all from F.P. Journe's Ruthenium series and all bearing the number 92 of 99. Christie's estimates the three Octa models at CHF 300,000 to 600,000 each and the Tourbillon Souverain and Chronomètre à Résonance at CHF 650,000 to 1,200,000 each, according to Haute Time's sale preview.
The rest of the sale
The 218-lot sale also includes a Patek Philippe reference 1518 in yellow gold, manufactured in 1947 according to Christie's lot page, estimated at CHF 500,000 to 1,000,000, and the Patek Philippe Nautilus 'Khanjar' made for the Sultanate of Oman, which we covered when it was announced.
A matching number across a set is part of what is being sold.
What it means if you own a limited-series watch
Limited series are numbered for a reason: the number, the original box and the papers all form part of the watch's story. If you are thinking of selling one, keep every document together, do not polish the case, and send us photographs of the dial, the case back and the papers for a free valuation.
