The headline lots

Session one on 7 November opens with lots 1 to 107; session two on 8 November runs lots 108 to 221. Phillips lists a Patek Philippe reference 1436 split-seconds chronograph in stainless steel, a Rolex reference 6062 triple calendar with moonphase in 18k yellow gold with a 'Stelline' star dial, and a Cartier Portico No. 4 among the leading lots.

Phillips Geneva XXIV: three headline lots
Patek Philippe 1436CHF 2,000,000
Cartier Portico No. 4CHF 1,800,000
Rolex 6062 'Time Capsule Stelline'CHF 600,000

Why the 6062 is in the news this week

The Rolex 6062 is one of the very few Rolex wristwatches with a full calendar and moonphase. SJX Watches published a hands-on with a steel example on 27 October, the same week Phillips put a gold 'Stelline' example in its Geneva catalogue.

A vintage complication is judged on originality first.

If you own a vintage watch

For vintage Rolex and Patek Philippe, original dials, hands and cases matter more than shine. Do not polish or service a vintage watch before it has been seen. Send us photographs of the dial, the case back and any papers for a free valuation, or post it to us insured.
