Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus Reported Engaged: The Ring She Showed First
A selfie from a film set came first, then a ring emoji. Page Six reports the actress and the country singer are engaged.
Page Six reported on 16 October 2026 that Billy Ray Cyrus had proposed to Elizabeth Hurley, days after she posted a selfie wearing a large diamond ring. Neither has commented publicly. The stone's cut, weight and maker have not been published.
What has been reported
On Monday 12 October 2026 the British actress Elizabeth Hurley, 61, posted photographs from her trailer on the set of the television series The 'Burbs. One showed a large diamond ring on her hand. On Friday 16 October Page Six reported, citing sources, that the American country singer Billy Ray Cyrus had proposed and that she had accepted. Cyrus had already posted a ring emoji on Instagram with the words "Kinda has a ring to it". TMZ and others followed, and TMZ said representatives for both had not responded.
Because Hurley was filming, some readers wondered if the ring was a costume piece. A source told Page Six it was not. The pair met making the 2022 film Christmas in Paradise and went public with their relationship in April 2025.
Reading a ring from a photograph
A phone photograph tells you less than it seems. Size on screen depends on the angle and the lens, so weight cannot be judged from a selfie, and no carat figure has been reported for this ring. What a photograph can show is the general style: a single large stone on a plain band is the classic solitaire, the most traditional engagement design of the last hundred years.

If you are buying, ask for the certificate, check the claws are sound, and look at the stone in daylight as well as under shop lights. If you are selling, keep the certificate, receipt and box together, and ask for the stone to be assessed on its own merits rather than as part of a weight of gold.
