  • Ivan IV, often known as Ivan the Terrible, ruled as Grand Prince of Moscow from 1533 to 1547 and as the first Tsar of all Russia from 1547 to 1584 in the bronze statues created by Lanceray during the Middle Ages. These artistic creations are a powerful reminder of the leader's importance in Russian history.

A key figure in the creation of the first professional Russian army in 1550, during Ivan the Terrible's leadership. While the arrival of repeating rifles rendered mounted archery ineffective in open terrain, the mounted infantry from Muscovy in the 16th century were a powerful force. Yet, it was still an effective method for usage in confined spaces.
