HISTORY:

James Arthur was a 19th-century silversmith from England. His birthplace was Birmingham, but he eventually made his way to London, where he set up business. James Arthur's magnificent silver designs were much sought after by the rich and aristocratic clients of the day. Often incorporating neoclassical and floral/foliate patterns into his work, his designs were elaborate. All during his career, James Arthur's work was lauded for its superior quality and workmanship, earning him a number of prestigious honours. His silver works are now shown in museums and private collections all around the globe, where they fetch great prices from ardent admirers.
