White House Bicentennial silver dollar, a 1992 United States commemorative coin in 0.900 fine silver with the architecture picked out in 24 carat gold, struck for the 200th anniversary of the laying of the White House cornerstone.
The cornerstone was laid on 13 October 1792. The competition to design the president's house had been won that July by James Hoban, an Irish born architect working in Charleston, whose plan drew on Leinster House in Dublin.
The obverse shows the north front of the White House and was designed by Edgar Z. Steever IV. The reverse carries a bust of Hoban beside the main entrance doorway and was designed by Chester Y. Martin. Surcharges from the issue went to the endowment for the preservation of the executive mansion and its collection.
