Queen Victoria Jubilee Head silver crown dated 1888, a British five shilling coin in 0.925 sterling silver struck by The Royal Mint.
The Jubilee coinage was introduced in 1887 for the fiftieth year of Victoria's reign. The portrait drew immediate criticism for the small crown perched on the Queen's head and the whole series was replaced in 1893 by the Old Head.
The obverse carries the Jubilee bust by Joseph Edgar Boehm. The reverse is Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the dragon, with the date in the exergue below the groundline.
