Morgan silver dollar dated 1921 with the D mintmark of the Denver Mint, the only year Denver ever struck a Morgan dollar, in 0.900 fine silver.
The Morgan dollar ran from 1878 to 1904 and was revived for a single year in 1921 under the Pittman Act. Denver did not open as a coining mint until 1906, two years after the series had ended, so 1921 is the one date on which a Denver Morgan exists. No other year of the series carries a D.
The obverse carries Liberty in a Phrygian cap wreathed with cotton and wheat, designed by George T. Morgan, who came to the United States Mint from the Royal Mint in London. The reverse sets an eagle with outstretched wings above a wreath. The D mintmark sits below the wreath, shown in the close up image.
