A late Art Deco ladies cocktail watch by Tiffany & Co., circa 1938, the slender rectangular platinum case framed by geometric diamond borders and stepped architectural shoulders, running into a fully articulated diamond-set bracelet.
The whole watch reads as a bracelet first and a timepiece second — a continuous line of brilliance around the wrist, with the silvered dial, black Arabic numerals and blued-steel hands kept deliberately restrained. That balance of jewel and instrument is exactly what the great houses were making at the close of the Deco period.
The case back is engraved 'M.Z. 1938', dating the watch precisely and tying it to whoever first received it. It is supplied in a later Tiffany & Co. presentation box.
