    Marked 84 for Russian silver with maker’s mark “Khlebnikov” in Cyrillic under Imperial warrant.

    Condition: Jug is pre - owned, minor signs of age usage, otherwise excellent and pleasant condition overall.

  • After spending some time working in St. Petersburg in 1867, firm founder Ivan Petrovich Khlebnikov moved his operations to Moscow, where he remained until he retired in 1981. He was a forerunner among the Moscow jewellery school's masters and was given the honorific title "Supply of the Palace of His Imperial Majesty.

    Variety: silver tea and tableware; writing equipment; one-of-a-kind items to order (works on the interior design of the Moscow Kremlin cathedrals). Both the traditional Russian style and the Art Nouveau style were used to create the wares.

    The plant shut down on June 24, 1917. One of the Khlebnikovs left the zemstvo (local government) of the Moscow region shares in the business in his will. The central operation became the Moscow Platinum Plant in 1918.
