A vintage English sterling silver miniature carriage clock, fully hallmarked in London in 1988 with the sponsor's mark RCB. It follows the classic English carriage-clock form, scaled down for a desk, bedside table, mantelpiece or display cabinet.
The rectangular case is formed in polished sterling silver, raised on four ball feet and surmounted by a hinged scrolling carry handle in the traditional manner. The white enamel-style dial is signed Munsey & Co., Cambridge, a long-established Cambridge jeweller and clock retailer, and marked Made in England. It carries bold black Roman numerals, an outer minute track and slim pierced hands.
The reverse opens to reveal the movement. The combination of a full London silver hallmark, a respected retailer's signature and the classic handled form makes this a charming and genuinely practical collector's timepiece.
