A striking mid-Victorian rock crystal orb pendant, circa 1870, showcasing a distinctive cross motif set with vivid turquoise cabochons and seed pearls. The domed rock crystal double cabochon encases the decorative openwork inner panel, composed of gold latticework adorned with 17 turquoise cabochons and 11 seed pearls (one deficient), further accented by 3 larger pearls set at cardinal points. The piece is mounted in a gold frame with projecting cabochon turquoise terminals, suspended from a twisted rope-link gold chain. The pendant is finely crafted in 18kt yellow gold, while the accompanying chain tests as 9kt yellow gold.
