Victorian 9KT gold Albert chain worn as a bracelet, with its T-bar, dog clip and a swivel fob set with bloodstone on one side and carnelian on the other.
The chain is a curb link, each link turned so it lies flat, finished at one end with a dog clip and fitted with a T-bar on a short drop. The fob is an oval swivel seal in a gold frame: turned one way it shows dark green bloodstone, turned the other a warm red carnelian.
Albert chains take their name from Prince Albert, who wore his watch on a short chain across the waistcoat. A single Albert of this length wraps the wrist once with the T-bar and fob hanging free, the way they are most often worn now.
