Edwardian Platinum and Old Cut Diamond Garland Tiara, 10.00 ct
Edwardian platinum and diamond garland tiara, a central five petal flower within sprays of diamond set leaves and buds on fine knife edge platinum stems.
The flower at the centre holds the largest diamond, an old European cut, and the garland spreads out from it on each side in leaves and buds paved with old cut diamonds in millegrain edged settings. Platinum, strong enough to be drawn into these fine stems, let jewellers of the Belle Epoque mount diamonds with very little visible metal.
The garland is mounted on a tiara frame bound in brown silk with ribbon ties at the back, which adjust the fit. It is presented in a Mozeris case.
