Cartier 18KT gold and stainless steel cable hoop clip earrings, from the 1980s, signed Cartier and numbered.
Each hoop is a thick cable of fine twisted strands, the gold and steel strands laid side by side so the colour alternates in diagonal bands around the hoop. The cable is gathered at each end into a polished 18KT gold cap, and the clip fitting is built into the back.
Gold and steel together were a Cartier signature of the late 1970s and 1980s, the same pairing the house used for the two tone Santos watch.
