Bulgari 18KT gold Tubogas ring, the front set with a round onyx disc framed by a bezel engraved BVLGARI BVLGARI, from the 1980s and in its Bulgari box.
Tubogas is Bulgari's name for gold wound in tight ridged coils without solder, a technique the house took up in the 1940s and made its own. Here the coils form the band of the ring, opening at the back on a hinged section so it can be put on over the knuckle and closed to sit snugly on the finger.
The polished onyx disc is flush set at the front within a wide gold rim engraved with the double BVLGARI logo, the motif introduced with the Bulgari Bulgari watch in 1977.
