Antique 18KT Gold Emerald and Old Cut Diamond Navette Cluster Ring
Antique 18KT gold emerald and diamond cluster ring, five round emeralds set in a line through the centre of a navette of twenty old cut diamonds.
The emeralds are graduated, the largest at the centre, and sit in a gold channel that runs the length of the head. Around them the old cut diamonds are set in a continuous border in white claws, so the green line is framed in white before the gold of the shank begins. The shoulders are pierced with open scrolls where they meet the head.
The navette, a pointed oval following the line of the finger, was a favoured outline for dress rings in the years either side of 1900. The shank is stamped 18CT with the maker's mark.
