18KT gold cabochon ruby and diamond bombé ring, a high dome woven from diagonal bands of pavé diamonds and studded with nineteen round cabochon rubies.
The dome is built as a basket weave: narrow bands of pavé set diamonds pass over and under one another in a lattice, and a cabochon ruby is raised in gold claws at every crossing and along the edges. The rubies stand proud of the surface, so the red reads against the white of the diamonds from every angle.
The shank is a wide, plain band of yellow gold, stamped inside with the maker's mark K.S, the 750 standard mark for 18KT gold and 18K.
