Kutchinsky 18KT Gold Cufflinks, Vintage London 1970s
A pair of signed Kutchinsky gold cufflinks, the oval faces worked with a fine basketweave texture that breaks the light rather than mirroring it, joined by swivel T-bar fittings to solid 18KT gold batons.
Kutchinsky was among the most inventive of the British houses through the 1960s and 70s, a Bond Street name whose bold, tactile goldwork was worn by film stars and royalty alike; signed pieces are increasingly sought after as that era of English jewellery is reappraised. The textured surface here is pure Kutchinsky — quiet from a distance, unmistakable in the hand.
At 16 grams of solid gold these have real presence on the cuff, and the swivel fittings make them genuinely easy to wear.
