Art Deco Platinum Diamond & Sapphire Bracelet, Approx. 8.28 ct Diamonds

£16,950.00

An Art Deco platinum bracelet set with approximately 8.28 ct of diamonds and calibré cut blue sapphires, the whole band worked as a geometric openwork lattice. Circa 1920s to 1930s.

The design runs a continuous row of diamonds down each edge and fills the centre with a repeating pattern of diamond set panels and triangular sapphires, so the blue reads as a rhythm along the length rather than as isolated stones. The lattice is pierced right through, which keeps a 40 gram bracelet light on the wrist and lets light behind the stones.

Calibré cutting means each sapphire is cut to fit its own space in the design rather than bought to a standard size, which is slow, expensive handwork and is what separates a bracelet like this from an ordinary diamond line.

It closes with a concealed box clasp and figure of eight safety catches.
