Russian 14KT gold thimble with a band of translucent red guilloché enamel, struck with the workmaster's mark H.W. for Henrik Wigström, head workmaster to Fabergé from 1903.
The body is worked with the traditional dimpled surface a thimble needs to hold a needle, and the lower third carries a band of translucent red enamel laid over an engine turned ground, so the guilloché pattern reads through the colour. A chased laurel border finishes the rim.
