Faberge Limited Edition Gold and Enamel Elephant Egg by Victor Mayer, 3 of 25
Faberge limited edition egg by Victor Mayer, number 3 of 25, in 18KT yellow gold and honey guilloche enamel, the cover mounted with a carved nephrite elephant beneath a diamond set parasol, on a carved malachite base.
The egg is enamelled in translucent honey gold over a wave engine turned ground, so the guilloche pattern reads through the colour. The cover carries a carved nephrite elephant with ruby eyes, wearing a gold saddle cloth of green enamel set with white diamonds, and above it a pierced gold parasol worked with flower heads and hung with diamond set drops. The curved armature supporting the parasol is pave set with diamonds along its length. The egg stands on coiled serpent feet on an oval malachite base, enclosed by twisted gold posts linked with gold chain, within a fluted gold gallery.
