This elegant Edwardian brooch is crafted in platinum and formed as a stylised ribbon bow. The curving loops and flowing tails are pavé-set throughout with old European cut diamonds, designed to reflect light from every angle. The openwork structure and lightness of the piece demonstrate the strength and delicacy that platinum allows, typical of fine French jewellery from the early 20th century.
The brooch features a secure hinged pin and early 1900s-style clasp fitting to the reverse. It bears a French maker’s lozenge-shaped punch mark and is housed in its original fitted presentation case by J. Delatre, Joaillier Bijoutier, 33 Rue Caumartin, Paris.
