The unusually deep, open interior is lined in rich navy-blue velvet. It appears intended for a small objet d’art rather than a conventional ring or brooch. It could accommodate a miniature gold box, pill box, compact, small clock, vinaigrette, sculptural jewel or similarly three-dimensional object.

Good vintage condition overall with wear consistent with age and use. The red leather exterior displays rubbing, small marks and areas of wear to the gilt edging. The cream satin lining has light discolouration and minor marks. The blue velvet interior shows compression and impressions from previous use. The retailer’s gilt branding remains clearly legible, and the fastening is present.
