Hancocks and Co was founded in London in 1849 by Charles Frederick Hancock and is best known as the original maker of the Victoria Cross, which the firm has produced for the British Crown since 1856. Hancocks remains a respected London jewellery house, and their period presentation boxes are sought after by collectors.
