Garrard held the post of Crown Jeweller from 1843 and moved to 112 Regent Street in 1952, so the box belongs to the years after that move. The case is long and shallow, covered in rose red grained paper with a fine gilt border, and the base is lined in crimson velvet with a channel running the length for a watch or a line bracelet.
