Victorian 19th-Century Leather Pendant and Locket Box

£225.00

A tall rectangular Victorian jewellery presentation box dating from the 19th century.

The exterior is covered in dark brown leather with a raised border and a small brass fastening. It opens vertically to reveal a vivid royal-blue satin lid and a deep blue velvet fitted base.

The elongated interior contains a discreet horizontal retaining loop near the top, making it particularly suitable for a pendant, locket, pendant brooch, watch fob, small medal or vertically arranged jewel.

The tall proportions are less typical than standard square ring boxes and make this a useful presentation case for an antique jewel requiring additional length.

Dimensions -
Exterior: 6.8 x 5.4 cm
Usable interior: Length: Approximately 6cm; Width: Approximately 4.7cm

Condition :
Fair antique condition with wear consistent with age. The leather exterior displays rubbing, surface marks and wear around the corners and raised border. The royal-blue satin lid has creasing and age-related marks. The velvet base shows compression, dust and impressions from previous use. The internal retaining loop and brass fastening remain present.
