A large antique necklace presentation box dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
The rectangular case is covered in dark green textured material and opens to reveal a cream satin-lined lid with a substantial shaped velvet display pad below. The raised central form and sloping shoulders are designed to present a large necklace, collar, rivière or jewellery suite.
The unusually generous proportions make this box suitable for displaying a substantial antique necklace that would not fit within a conventional jewellery case. Decorative brass fittings remain present to the front, and the case retains its original hinged construction.
