Art Deco Cartier Ring Box, Circa 1920s

£295.00

Antique Cartier ring presentation box, circa 1920s, in red leather with gilt tooling, the flap stamped CARTIER LTD, folding flat to a strap when open.

This is the travelling form of ring case Cartier used between the wars: rather than a hinged box it is a single strip of red leather, gilt tooled and gilt studded at the corners, that folds over on itself and fastens with a stud. Opened out flat it runs to about 10.5 cm, with a cream silk lining and a sprung clip to hold the ring at the centre.
