Antique J.W. Benson Ring Box, Ludgate Hill London
Antique ring presentation box by J.W. Benson Ltd of Ludgate Hill, the silk lid printed Watchmakers, Jewellers and Silversmiths, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, E.C.4.
Benson was one of the great City of London watchmaking houses and the imprint here gives the Ludgate Hill address in full. The case is covered in pale green shagreen pattern paper with a gilt dentil border running round the lid and base, and the interior is fitted with a black velvet ring slot below a cream silk lid.
