Made from heavy-gauge silver (900 purity), the rectangular form with rounded corners is decorated in chased and repoussé work. The lid depicts two dragons in high relief pursuing the flaming pearl on a stippled ground, with a vacant oval cartouche for personalisation. The interior is lined with dark wood (professionally restored).
