Why Sell to Mozeris Fine Antiques?
We are specialist buyers of antique and vintage jewellery — not a general second-hand shop, not a pawn broker, not an online aggregator. Our buying team has decades of experience evaluating jewellery from every period of British and European decorative history, and our direct connections to private collectors and specialist dealers allow us to pay considerably more than the high street.
When you come to sell antique jewellery, the difference between a generalist buyer and a specialist is significant. A Victorian diamond cluster brooch that a high-street jeweller might assess purely on metal weight and diamond carat weight may be worth four or five times that amount to the right collector — because of its maker, its condition, its rarity, and its period appeal. We look for all of those factors.
"We do not melt antique jewellery down. We buy it for its historical and aesthetic value — and our offers reflect what collectors actually pay, not scrap metal prices."
— Mozeris Fine Antiques, Jewellery Buying Team
What Makes Antique Jewellery Valuable
Antique jewellery is valued very differently from modern pieces. The four factors that most affect what we can offer:
Period and rarity. Georgian jewellery (pre-1837) is genuinely scarce — very little survives in wearable condition. Early Georgian pieces command the strongest premiums for this reason alone.
Signed or attributed maker. A Cartier, Van Cleef, Boucheron, or Liberty signed piece is worth dramatically more than an equivalent unsigned example. Even lesser-known makers — Giuliano, Thornhill, Castellani — carry significant collector premiums.
Condition and originality. Unaltered pieces with original stones, settings and catches are worth more than repaired, re-set or converted jewellery. We assess every piece in the condition we receive it.
Completeness. Parures (matching sets of necklace, brooch, earrings, bracelet) are worth considerably more together than apart. Do not split sets before contacting us.

Browse by Period
We buy antique jewellery from every era — click through for specialist guides on each period.
Georgian Jewellery
The rarest of all British jewellery periods. Rose-cut diamonds, cannetille goldwork, seed pearl mourning pieces, paste, and portrait miniatures. Surviving sets are exceptionally valuable.
Victorian Jewellery
Three distinct eras — Early, Mid and Late Victorian. Whitby jet, Etruscan revival, garnet parures, lockets, mourning pieces, Albert chains and diamond cluster rings.
Edwardian Jewellery
Platinum lace — delicate millegrain settings, natural pearls, old European cut diamonds. The most technically refined jewellery of any period. Signed Cartier pieces reach £100,000+.
Art Nouveau Jewellery
Nature-inspired enamel masterpieces by Lalique, Fouquet, Gaillard and Wolfers. Plique-à-jour enamel, horn, moonstone and fine diamonds in organic forms.
Art Deco Jewellery
Geometric platinum and diamond pieces, calibré-cut sapphires and emeralds, double clip brooches. Signed Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Chaumet and Lacloche.
Antique & Vintage Diamonds
Old European, Old Mine, Rose, Briolette, and Table cuts. Antique cut diamonds are prized by collectors over modern brilliant cuts. GIA certification adds value for larger stones.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you value antique jewellery?
We assess each piece on its period, maker (if identifiable), stones (type, quality, cut and carat), metal, condition, and current market demand. We then compare against recent auction results and private sale data for comparable pieces. We always explain what we have found and how we arrived at our offer.
Will you buy jewellery with stones missing or damage?
Yes — we buy jewellery in all conditions. Damage or missing stones reduce the price we can offer, but do not prevent us from buying. We always advise whether repair would increase the value enough to justify the cost, which in most cases it does not.
I have a collection of mixed antique jewellery — will you assess it all?
Yes — we welcome collections of all sizes. Bring everything, including pieces you think have no value. We assess every item and advise honestly. Sometimes the most overlooked pieces are the most valuable.
Can you identify unsigned pieces?
In most cases, yes. Period can usually be identified from construction techniques, hallmarks, stone cuts and setting styles. Maker attribution is more difficult without a signature, but certain workshops have distinctive characteristics that our team recognises. We will always be honest about the limits of identification.
Do you buy modern jewellery as well as antique?
Our primary focus is antique and vintage jewellery (pre-1970). For signed modern pieces from houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef, Bulgari or Tiffany we will always make an assessment. For unsigned modern pieces we are not the right buyer — a high-street jeweller or online reseller would serve you better.
