Vintage 1970s 18KT gold opal and sapphire cocktail ring, a large oval opal of 25 x 15 mm flanked by six blue sapphires on sculpted gold shoulders.
The opal has a dark body tone with flashes of green, blue and red, set in a polished rubover bezel. Three oval sapphires rise on each side in their own collets, and the shoulders sweep down in fluted gold. Marked 750 inside the shank.
