Antique 9KT gold enamel miniature, pearl and diamond brooch, retailed by H. N. v. Santen of Frankfurt, court jeweller, and in its original fitted case.
At the centre is an oval painted enamel miniature of a lady seated in a garden, worked in lilac, violet and white, framed in a millegrain border of rose cut diamonds with an old cut diamond in a collet above and below. Around it the lavender panel is fluted in fine radiating ribs, and the whole oval is enclosed by a border of seed pearls on a fine wire frame.
The case is in red-brown leather with a cream silk lining printed with a crown and H. N. v. SANTEN, kaiserl. königl. Hoflieferant, FRANKFURT A/M, Rossmarkt 11, the firm's style as Imperial and Royal court supplier.
