19th century 20KT gold carnelian cameo pendant, a carved profile of a classical lady in a veil, framed in pearls, opening to a photograph on the reverse.
The cameo is cut through the layers of the carnelian so the white figure stands out against the warm pink-brown ground. A row of pearls borders the oval, with a pearl-set bail above. The back holds a glazed photograph compartment.
