Victorian Colombian Emerald and Diamond Drop Earrings
Victorian Colombian emerald and diamond drop earrings, a pear shaped emerald within an old cut diamond cluster hanging from a diamond set link and hoop, in silver settings over gold.
Each earring is built in three articulated parts, so the drop swings independently of the hoop above it. The emeralds are matched as a pair and each is closed set within a border of old cut diamonds, the diamonds themselves set in silver over a gold back in the Victorian manner, which keeps the white of the stones from being warmed by the gold behind.
