Victorian Colombian emerald and diamond cluster ring, the emerald cut centre stone framed by a scalloped border of old European cut diamonds, in silver settings over a 9KT gold shank.
The emerald is rub over set within a fine milgrain collet, with the diamond border rising and falling in scallops around it and a squared panel of four diamonds carried down each shoulder. The gallery is pierced and open backed so daylight reaches the emerald from behind, which is how a stone of this colour was meant to be seen.
