Golden South Sea pearls grow in the gold lipped Pinctada maxima across northern Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The colour is natural to the shell, not applied, and a strand matched at 9 mm in this depth of gold takes years of harvests to assemble. Mikimoto issues them only when the match holds across the whole row.
The necklace clasp is 18KT white gold set with diamonds and struck with the Mikimoto M and 750. The earrings carry a single 9 mm pearl each below a diamond set gallery, marked 750 and 0.09. Supplied in the original Mikimoto case.
