Art Deco style platinum ring, the upright plaque set with an oval Burmese ruby of 1.51 ct within radiating calibre cut ruby rays and a scalloped diamond border.
An oval ruby is collet set at the centre of an upright plaque, and from it calibre cut rubies run outward as narrow rays to the top and bottom, each cut to taper along its own line. Diamonds fill between the rays and run round the outline in scalloped panels. At 1.51 ct this is the largest ruby in the parcel, and Burma has been the reference source for the stone for five centuries.
