Art Deco Diamond Ring, Marquise Diamond Plaque
An Art Deco diamond ring of beautifully drawn geometry — a square platinum plaque set on the diagonal, its centre an old-cut marquise diamond framed by a lozenge of old-cut brilliants and pierced openwork panels that let light through the whole head.
This is Deco design at its most disciplined: the plaque is fully articulated front and back, with millegrained edges, hand-pierced galleries and diamond-set shoulders that step down to a fine platinum shank. Held to the light the piercing casts a lace shadow — the reason these plaque rings were prized then and are so collected now.
A distinctive alternative to a conventional solitaire, and a genuine 1920s–30s survivor in crisp original order.
