Sapphire is hard-wearing (9 on the Mohs scale), making it an excellent everyday engagement stone. Look at colour, clarity and whether the stone is heat-treated or unheated — unheated stones with strong colour are the most prized. We note origin (Ceylon, Burma) and treatment where known.

What does 'unheated' or 'no heat' mean?
It means the sapphire's colour is entirely natural, with no heat treatment. Unheated stones of fine colour are the most sought after, and we state this where known.
Do you know where the sapphires are from?
Origin such as Ceylon (Sri Lanka) or Burma is noted on the listing where it has been established.
Can the ring be resized?
