Important Victorian Burmese Sapphire and Diamond Pendant

£89,500.00

An important Victorian pendant crafted in 15KT gold and silver, centred with a substantial cushion-shaped Burmese sapphire. The sapphire is confirmed as natural with no indications of heat treatment, accompanied by a GCS certificate stating origin as Myanmar (Burma). It displays a rich blue colour with good transparency and presence, forming the focal point of this striking piece.

The design is arranged in a symmetrical openwork form, typical of late 19th century jewellery, with a combination of old cushion cut and old mine cut diamonds set throughout. Four larger cushion cut diamonds are positioned around the central sapphire, each approximately 2.3 carats, creating strong visual balance and adding significant brilliance.
