A Victorian 15KT gold necklace set with turquoise cabochons and natural seed pearls, the front worked as a row of small flower heads with graduated drops beneath, on a fine gold chain.
Each flower is built from tiny turquoise cabochons set around a centre in the forget me not pattern the Victorians used for sentimental jewellery, turquoise standing for remembrance. Slender gold scroll links carry the flowers, and seed pearl and gold drops hang below, graduating to the centre. The whole necklace weighs only 10.3 grams.
It retains its original fitted box, the silk lining stamped Goulding & Co., Goldsmiths, Plymouth. 15KT gold was a British standard used only between 1854 and 1932.
