A pair of Art Deco drop earrings, each a graduated line of six old European cut diamonds falling to a substantial principal stone of approximately one carat in a millegrained collet.
Old European cuts were made for candlelight and electric filament, not for LED: a small table, a high crown and a large open culet give a slower, broader flash than a modern brilliant, with more fire and less white glitter. Set as a graduated drop they catch the light with every movement of the head.
Just over 2.5 carats in total and only 2.1cm long.
