Antique Emerald, Diamond & Pearl Necklace, Silver and Gold
A 19th-century necklace of real presence: seventeen navette-shaped silver plaques, each pierced with scrolling quatrefoil openwork and edged in fine beading, linked by baroque pearls into a continuous 48cm chain.
Every plaque centres a step-cut green stone in a serrated gold collet, framed by four rose-cut diamonds in raised cut-down settings. The plaques alternate between corner-up and square-on through the length, so the line never reads as mechanical. Gold runs throughout the piece, in the collets, the jump rings and the pearl pins, set against oxidised silver, which is the classic 19th-century way of keeping rose diamonds bright.
The clasp is a matching gem-set plaque backed with an engine-turned gold sunburst, hinged and hooked.
