A three stone diamond ring in 18KT white gold, set with graduated round brilliant cut diamonds totalling approximately 1.30 ct, the centre stone around 0.50 ct with a 0.40 ct stone to each side.
The stones are held in claw collets raised on a slender gallery so they sit clear of the finger and take light from beneath, and the shank tapers to a plain narrow band.
The interior is engraved with the date 4 . 6 . 47 and a pair of initials, so the ring can be dated exactly to 4 June 1947. Trilogy rings were the standard English engagement ring of the period, and one that carries its own date is uncommon.
